FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How buying, leasing and offers work, and what happens after you pay.
Buying a domain
Why buy from you instead of a marketplace?
You deal directly with the owner. There's no middleman taking a cut, so prices can be better and questions get answered by someone who knows the domain.
How do I pay?
Checkout runs through Stripe, which accepts all major cards. You'll get a receipt by email straight away.
Is my payment protected?
Payments are processed by our payment provider and we start the transfer as soon as your payment clears. For larger purchases we're happy to use Escrow.com, which holds the funds until the domain is in your account.
Are there any extra fees?
The listed price is what you pay for the domain. After the transfer you'll pay your own registrar's normal yearly renewal fee.
Lease to own
How does lease to own work?
Choose a term between 3 and 12 months. The Buy now price is split into equal monthly payments over that term, with no extra charge for leasing. You can point the domain at your website from the first payment, and full ownership transfers to you once the last payment clears.
Can I pay it off early?
Yes. Pay the remaining balance at any time and we'll start the transfer straight away.
What if I miss a payment?
You have a 14-day grace period. After that the lease ends, the domain returns to us and payments already made are not refunded.
Making an offer
How quickly will I hear back?
Usually within 2 business days. We'll accept, decline or come back with a counter-offer by email.
Is there a minimum offer?
Offers that are too far below the Buy Now price can't be considered, and the form will ask you to raise yours. Serious offers close to the Buy Now price get the fastest answer.
Transfer and ownership
How long does the transfer take?
Most transfers complete within 1–3 days of payment. If you use the same registrar we do, it can be a simple account-to-account push the same day.
Do I need my own registrar account?
Yes, any registrar that supports the extension works. If you don't have one yet, we'll help you set one up.
What do .app domains need to work?
Browsers only load .app sites over HTTPS, so your website needs an SSL certificate. Most hosts provide one free.
Still have a question?
We usually reply within 1 business day.
